Facilities and Infrastructure

To support and develop science and technology, the Mechanical Engineering Study Program provides various facilities for education and training for the community, as well as production.

Pneumatic Laboratory

Pneumatics is the science that studies the technique of using compressed air for various purposes. Pneumatic systems have a wide range of applications because pneumatic air is clean and readily available. Many industries use pneumatic systems in the production process, such as the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the packing industry and other industries. Learning pneumatics is very useful considering that almost all industries now use pneumatic systems.

Bench, Welding & Plate Working Laboratory (BLP)

BLP Laboratory / Workshop is one of the laboratories in the mechanical engineering study program. In the BLP lab, students are given practice on the following topics: bench work, plate work, welding work. The topic of bench work is that students are taught to make a component/workpiece that must be done with manual tools such as; saws, hand drill files and so forth.
The topic of plate work is that students are taught to make technical objects made of plates by cutting, bending, riveting, soldering and so on.
On the topic of welding work, students are taught welding with various types of welding such as electric welding, gas welding, spot welding and mix welding.

Chemistry lab

The Polines chemical laboratory is included in the criteria for a basic science laboratory, whose existence is needed as a learning resource for vocational higher education students.

Laboratorium Pemesinan

Machining Laboratory

The machining laboratory is a place for learning / practice / student skills training in the form of making semi-finished materials into formed (finished) materials. The machining laboratory is equipped with several machines including: Flat lathes, milling machines (milling), cylinder grinding machines, surface grinding machines, hobbing machines, ordinate boring machines, universal drilling machines, cutting tool sharpening grinding machines (grinding tools), engraving machines, EDM machines and pedestal grinding machines.

CNC Laboratory (Computer Numerical Control)

The CNC Laboratory is a practicum facility for students in the field of machining and production engineering equipped with computer technology and its software. The use of CNC machines is not only in production, but also in small workshops, conventional machines will be replaced with CNC machines. CNC learning is carried out in the form of practice preceded by the theory that supports it. Basic knowledge of CNC is important for everyone (students), so that they can then move on to advanced knowledge of CNC which will train Polytechnic students, especially those majoring in production mechanical engineering, to become skilled at operating CNC machines.

Design Laboratory

The design laboratory is a vehicle for practicum learning for students in the field of design equipped with computers along with AutoCAD, Solidwork, CATIA, Pro-Eng and Master CAM software. Learning is carried out in the form of scheduled lectures and in the form of guidance on making final assignments or guidance to students who create innovations related to design.

Computer lab

The existence of a laboratory in mechanical engineering study program is to support the achievement of graduate competencies that require computer literacy support. Courses that use the mechanical engineering study program computer lab include: Computer Programming, Design of Production Aids, and other courses that require demonstrations of using a computer lab.

Metrology Laboratory

The Metrology Laboratory trains students to have knowledge, skills and independence in doing work in the field of metrology (measurement).

Material Test Laboratory

In the material testing laboratory, including tensile, bending and bending tests. Measurement of hardness values and heat treatment as well as analysis of metal microstructure images.

Maintenance and Repair Laboratory

Maintenance and Repair Laboratory of Semarang State Polytechnic Mechanical Engineering study program is an important facility for students to prepare/introduce the basics of maintenance and repair of industrial machines, engine performance tests, automotive and heavy equipment. Utilization of Maintenance and Repair laboratory facilities and facilities aims to provide adequate skills in the field of maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, so that students are able to treat, recognize, analyze, and repair damage that occurs in industrial machines or heavy equipment. With the competencies possessed by these students, it is hoped that students will be able to prepare themselves to be able to fill employment opportunities as reliable personnel in the field of maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
